Stickers buying guide

Vinyl, clear or hologram: which sticker suits your artwork?

Start with the background behind your design. White vinyl provides a white base, clear vinyl leaves unprinted areas transparent, and hologram material reveals its effect in unprinted areas.

Plan the artwork and exposed material together

For clear stickers, artwork without a background allows the transparent material to show. For hologram stickers, printed areas generally do not have the same holographic effect as unprinted areas. White vinyl offers glossy or matte finish; clear and hologram offer glossy only.

Prepare artwork in CMYK. Highly saturated RGB colors can change when converted for printing, and printed colors can differ from the on-screen proof. Review lettering and details at the final size.

Choose the area your design fits inside

Your design must fit inside the width and height of the selected size. For example, a 2 × 2 inch choice is the area your artwork fits within, even when the outline is not square.

Confirm the supported dimensions for the selected construction. Fixed-size vinyl sticker sheets use a rectangular sheet size; plan the individual designs within that sheet's printing area.

Cutting changes how the stickers arrive

Die Cut follows the design outline through both the sticker material and backing.

Kiss Cut leaves a larger rectangular backing so the sticker can peel away from it.

Sheet cutting places labels on a carrier arranged by production. Carrier size, layout and labels per sheet cannot be specified.

Fixed-size sheets or a factory-arranged carrier?

Vinyl sticker sheets are a separate product for multiple designs on one rectangular sheet, and their order quantity counts whole sheets. The Sheet cutting option on other materials uses a carrier arranged by production; its dimensions, layout and sticker count cannot be specified.

Transfers have their own color and cut choices

Choose one-, two-, three- or full-color transfers to match your design. Transfers have no separate finish choice.

Separate gives each transfer its own backing paper and application film.

Random Cut transfers may arrive separately or several on a carrier. Production chooses carrier size, layout and the number of transfers per sheet.

Compare paper, transfers, sheets and other constructions

Each material has its own finish and cutting choices. Metallic paper and plated-metal stickers are different constructions.
